STAFF:

  • Head Sensei: Chris Kennedy
  • Assistant Coach: Brandon Hiebert
  • Greeter and Screener: Mellisa Kennedy

GENERAL DAILY PROCEDURES

Arrival:

  • Arrive 10 minutes early to allow for entry screening at the entrance door.
  • Students must arrive in a clean judogi (Change rooms will not be available).
  • Students must line up outside and observe the 2m social distancing rules.
  • Students will enter one at a time.
  • No spectators will be allowed in the dojo.  Parents are to drop off a minor but must remain in the vicinity until the child has cleared the screening procedure.
  • ONLY THE REGISTERED MEMBERS, COACHES, AND GREETER WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING.

Screening:

  • All judoka must bring a fully completed questionnaire with signature and emergency contact number (parental signature if a minor).  No form – no entry.
  • All judoka will have a temperature check performed using a NO CONTACT infrared thermometer prior to admission onto the mats.
  • Anyone failing the temperature check will have a second chance after they have left the dojo and returned through the line.  Failure a second time will result in the judoka being sent home.
  • A “failing” temperature will be any registered temperature of 38C or above.

Access to the mats:

  • Shoes and belongings must be stored in the designated areas.  Water bottles will be located on the bench for easy access.
  • All judoka must sanitize their hands before entering the mat area.
  • All judoka must obey the safety instructions and protocols.  Failure to do so will result in expulsion.
  • Washrooms will not be accessible, except in extreme cases.  Anyone using the washroom must sanitize their hands before returning to the mat area.

Masks:

  • Masks will not be required for any participant, the coaches, or the greeter, as these people will all be included in the total cohort number.
  • Health Inspectors and Judo Alberta representatives may attend from time to time and will be required to wear a mask and follow social distancing protocols while inside the building.

Exit:

  • After the class is over, judoka will leave the mats a few at a time and sanitize their hands.  They will then gather their belongings and leave in a prompt fashion.
  • Parents/adults accompanying a minor must be waiting outside to pick up the child. Your child will not be allowed to linger inside the dojo or return inside after class. Please ensure that you are present and ready for pick up at the appropriate time. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Judogis:

  • It is expected that Judogis will be washed once per week in an effort to maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness.
  • Be aware that these are soft surfaces that will require regular cleaning to remain free of contamination. Judogis must still be washed in cold water and hung to dry but a mild bleach solution may be used.

Cleaning:

  • The mats and all potential contact points will be cleaned with an approved cleaning solution between each class and at the end of the night.
